GFRD Turns 2!

Ghost Fleet Roller Derby League has completed two full years, and our 2024 season is slated to be the best yet! Take a look at some of our 2023 Highlights!

First Roller Derby Practice of 2024

After some well-deserved time off for the holidays, Ghost Fleet hit the track again on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, for the first practice of the year. We had a tremendous turnout of skaters, referees, and non-skating officials to help us kick off our season. Check out the amazing crew!

It was so great to see everyone after the league break, and get back into the swing of things practicing our skills and hitting our friends! This group will be working hard over the next couple of weeks as we prepare for our team tryouts.

League members will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, determination, sportsmanship, and more as they work toward being selected to play on our Home and Travel Teams. Stay tuned for team announcements!

The GFRD Training Committee will now be offering New Skater Intake and Orientation every month for interested skaters!

Our first New Skater Intake will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Smithfield Skate Ltd. in Smithfield, VA. If you’re interested in attending, fill out our Contact Form, and a member of our Recruiting Committee will reach out.

After our initial 2024 intake, additional opportunities will be available on the first Thursday of every month. Check out our Events page for more details!
